Ministry of Environment Proposes Amendments to Environmental Pesticide Permit and Testing Fees

  • To implement the "user pays" principle, the Ministry of Environment, referencing the consumer price index and reviewing the document review procedures, manpower needs, and equipment costs associated with various applications and inspections under the Environmental Pesticide Management Act, has announced a draft amendment to Articles 2 and 7 of the "Fee Standards for Various Environmental Pesticide Permit Applications and Testing.“ According to the Ministry, the key points of the proposed amendments include:a review and adjustment of the current review fees for various permits and licenses, based on the consumer price index, review procedures, manpower requirements, testing labor, and equipment costs. To further enforce the user-pays principle, the amendments also introduce new review fees for approvals related to the commissioned manufacturing, repackaging, or formulation of environmental pesticides, as well as for natural substance products intended for pest or rodent control or luring purposes. Fees are also proposed for the extension of approval documents and for sample approval applications required for registration.
